June 2007 - MS2 now includes Manhattan Analysis.
Manhattan charts provide a very powerful way to detect accurately the time of a significant change in a single variable or (using principal component analysis) an overall process. The technology is now integrated within the MS2 Process Analytics System.
May 2007 - Improve business performance and profitability by understanding complex processes
MS2 Process Analytics System Version 4.3 Released
MS2 is rapidly being updated with new ideas that have allowed additional functionality to be embedded in the core system.
January 2007 - MS2 Data Mining and Visualisation Project Newsletter 3 is now available
The rate of adoption of the innovative data mining technology in the MS2 Process Analytics System has been astounding. One question has been dominant in virtually all the projects we have undertaken so far “when can MS2 be used on line?”
October 2006 - MS2 Data Mining and Visualisation Project Newsletter 2 is now available
We now have 12 companies on board as development partners for our MS2 Process Analytics system. Discussions are well advanced for at least six more to join us over the next few weeks.
Representing a range of company sizes and markets, these companies are involved in both organic synthesis and inorganic processes, pharmaceuticals, surface coatings, petrochemicals, oil and agrochemicals. Many are multinational.
August 2006 - AJM Consulting welcomes Association with Prof. Julian Morris
AJM Consulting, the specialist in manufacturing improvement in the process
industries through IT, is pleased to announce that Professor Julian Morris

July 2006 - MS2 Data Mining and Visualisation Project Newsletter 1 is now available.
AJM Consulting's data mining and visualisation system is now launched as a product and, to date, eight sites have commissioned development, including ConocoPhillips, Synthomer, A H Marks, Fibres Worldwide, Technical Absorbents, Aesica Pharmaceuticals, Jotun Paints and Holliday Pigments. This newsletter describes the current status of the project and describes some of the technologies used.
March 2006 - AJM Consulting in Cooperation with CPACT
AJM Consulting has developed a data mining system which enables chemical manufacturers to investigate the causes of production problems leading to reduced quality or throughput. Standard univariate statistical techniques such as Shewart Charts and conformance (e.g. Cp/Cpk) are being substantially augmented by multivariate techniques. Principal component analysis is a technique for identifying the true causes for process variability and for detecting their onset. Co-variance is a way of identifying links between individual variables. Parallel coordinates provide visibility of many variables simultaneously, and allow users to determine process conditions leading to both good and bad production. AJM Consutling is pleased to be working in cooperation with CPACT (Centre for Preocess Analytics and Control technology) at the University of Newcastle. CPACT are acknowledged as leaders in multivariate analysis applications in process industries.
October 2005 - MS2 is now web-enabled
With funding support from the reginal development agency Yorkshire Forward, MS2 has now been enhanced to enable dynamic web functions. An advanced product specification selection system enables potential customers to search for a desired product from hundreds of specifications. Sales order status can be queried by customers. Samples can be ordered on line. Raw material requirements on line facilitate much improved procurement. And many more...
The MS2 Dynamic Web Server will be launched at the Chemical Engineering North 05 exhibition at YEC Harrogate on November 16 & 17.
July 2005 - AJM exports MS2 to Poland
The sugar refinery at Glinojeck, near Warsaw, is one of Poland's largest refineries and has increasingly complex packaging oeprations. The company has purchased AJM Consulting's MS2 manufacturing support system, integrated to the Preactor finite capacity scheduler. AJM Consulting has appointed Pretczynski Ltd of Warsaw, an established reseller of Preactor in Poland, as its MS2 partner for this project.
May 2005 - Teklube buy MS2 Batch Manufacturing System
Teklube, the East Yorkshire-based manufacturer of specialist metalworking fluids, has ordered all modules in the MS2 manufacutring system suite, including batch management, production planning, specification handling and cost analysis. According to the MD, Philip Hall:
"We have the same management system requirements as a multi-national, but as an SME we needed a cost-effective system which also addresses the needs of process industries. We have searched for over three years for a solution. The MS2 system will be of great benefit to our manufacturing operaon in the short term, and its flexibility and power also mean that we can onward develop it to meet future needs, including advanced customer service".
January 2005 - MS2 integrates with Preactor Finite Capacity Scheduling System
AJM Consulting has developed a production planning and scheduling system specifically for a paper industry client, which uses MS2 to create the bills of material and other details needed, transfers this information to the Preactor FCS module, and then analyses the resulting schedule details to provide information on availability times and resultant stock levels.
December 2004 - MS2 provides Apprentice Training Management
AJM Consulting completes a contract to implement a structured apprentice training course management system for Impress HCTTA

September 14 2002 - MS2 - Cluster management with a CRM feature set
The latest module in the MS2 Manufacturing Support System - Customer Relationship Management (CRM) - has been sold to the Grimsby-based Humber Chemical Focus. The CRM module provides a unified approach to contact management - all calls, correspondence, visit reports and so on are available as a complete history for either a company or individual people within that company. The entire history can be viewed rapidly, enabling instant access to a caller's details. Future tasks, such as follow up calls, can be entered as required.
The MS2 CRM features will be of particular use to the company as it also provides them with many feature to analyse the region's chemical industry cluster, such as material usage, production and by-production, services availability and needs and many other aspects.
March 21 2001 - AJM Consulting joint venture develops real-time COMAH system
Designed for speciality chemical companies with a wide-ranging hazardous stock situation, our MS2 manufacturing support system and Fisher Rosemount's DeltaV process control system now integrate to provide real-time COMAH status information. The COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) regulations impose stringent management regulations on companies that use, store and process chemical materials. Accurate classification into the appropriate COMAH tier - and adherence to that tier - are essential to avoid extra cost, management overhead and the possibility of legal proceedings. The MS2 manufacturing support system's COMAH module integrates with DeltaV to analyse the current classification and provide an alarm if appropriate. Critically, it provides comprehensive data validation, archiving and audit facilities.
